Another E3 has come and gone and from the looks of things it’s going to be a very exciting year for gaming. After much hype around the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers finally got their first glances of the upcoming titles on both these consoles and from the looks of it, these games are extremely promising. While there was no official Nintendo E3 conference, there was still plenty of news shown through their Nintendo Direct video. Here are Tech Net Africa’s top games to look forward to in the coming months.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain – The Phantom Pain will be an open world, third person stealth-action game which runs on the FOX engine.
Battlefield 4 – In Battlefield 4, gamers will experience huge environments, a playground of destruction, access to an arsenal of vehicles and the ability to direct squad mates. It’s the first entry in the first-person shooter franchise to run on Frostbite 3 technology. The game once again aims to push the envelope in terms of graphical power.
Destiny – From the creators of Halo and the publisher of Call of Duty, Destiny is a first-person MMO that promises to deliver an incredible story set within a newly imagined, always-connected universe filled with action and adventure. In Destiny, you are a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth, able to wield incredible power.
Watch Dogs – is an open-world urban survival game with a measure of tactical stealth action. The game is a variant of grand theft auto but with more stealth and control of your cities environments.
The Order: 1886 – is an upcoming Playstation exclusive developed by Ready at Dawn Studios and SCE Santa Monica Studios. The Order: 1886 is a third-person action-adventure game that follows an alternate history surrounding a group known as the “Order” and their pursuit to stop monster-like creatures and ancient foes that threaten mans existence.
Quantum Break – Just announced from Remedy Entertainment for the Xbox One. The game will blend between a live-action TV series and a video game where how you play the game will impact that show. Developer Remedy has touted the game as the “ultimate Remedy” experience.
Ryse: Son of Rome – The latest game announced from developer Crytek. The game will be a third-person action game set in Roman times. The Xbox One exclusive tells the story of “Marius Titus”, a young Roman soldier who witnesses the murder of his family at the hands of barbarian bandits, who travels with the Roman army to Britannia to seek revenge. It will be interesting to see how much the Kinect sensor is integrated into this game.
Infamous Second Son – is the “third” instalment of the Infamous franchise, a sequel to Infamous and Infamous 2 and takes place in Seattle seven years after the events in New Marais. Infamous Second Son is an open world action adventure in which you take control of a new protagonist Delsin Rowe.
Call of Duty: Ghosts – is a first person shooter game developed by Infinity Ward. The new tech and gameplay looks great, Ghosts will be available on both of current systems, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
