We greatly appreciate comments and posts, both positive and negative, on the Tech Net Africa website. We have a comments/posts policy, outlining what conduct is and is not acceptable on the website, so that no visitor is subject to abuse.
Moderation of comments/post – We use Askimet to protect our website from spam. Askimet is an automated system and may flag incorrect posts and comments as spam. We assess flagged material on an individual basis. Comments with more than two hyperlinks in the comments’ body are also held for moderation, as this is usually a sign of spam.
Trolling or flaming – The Internet is a place for debate and discussion. Whilst we encourage debate and discussion, we don’t feel there’s a place for people who only intend to be malicious. We will be watching out for signs of this and delete comments/posts and/or ban users if necessary.
Abusive and objectionable comments/posts – The following will not be tolerated: racist, sexist, defamatory, obscene, profane or harmful comments/posts. Including anything illegal in nature or anything that infringes upon another’s rights (including children’s rights). We reserve the right to delete comments/posts and/or ban users who do not comply with this policy.
User profiles – You may customise your profile as you please as long as it does not contain any objectionable material. Profile pictures must not contain any images of a violent, sexual or prejudiced nature. More so, profile pictures must be suitable for viewing by individuals of all ages.
Support and questions – If you feel a comment/post requires moderation, please contact us through the contact form or through the administrative forum. We also welcome suggestions and criticism regarding our comments and posts policy.
Personal details – We do not recommend that you leave phone numbers and/or email addresses in the comments/posts section. Feel free to add a link when you submit a post as a means for other users to get a hold of you.
